Oh, these are fantastic & I want them all 😭

I mean, look at this little weirdo.
Once again, I'm messing around in Aseprite to design cross stitch patterns.
On that somber note, we watch October draw to a close. All of you Ghouls and Goblins take care of yourselves out there and have a Happy Halloween.
As he neared the bridge, he lost control on the curve and plummeted down a ravine. He was killed and his head severed. His motorcycle headlights suffered the same fate. The ghostly headlights can be seen speeding down the road, only to vanish halfway across the Elmore bridge.
The young man felt his heart shatter. The hope that had gotten his through the war evaporated. Grief and anger welled up inside him. He hopped onto his motorcycle and sped off. He drove faster and faster, trying to outrun the tears.
He returned to Elmore and was welcomed by his family. As happy as he was to see them, all he could think about was her. He told his family that he needed to see her and they grew quite. His father took him aside and told him that she had already married another.
Finally, he received word that he would be heading home. He wrote to her, to tell her of his overwhelming joy. How he wanted to hold her and never let go. That he was going to marry her.
Throughout the war, her letters were his lifeline. They helped him deal with the fear and horror that surrounded him. As the war dragged on, her letters became less frequent. He assumed this was due to the war.
It only seems right to end October with a ghost story. There is an urban legend about the Elmore Bridge in Elmore, Ohio. A young man was sent off to fight in World War II. He kissed his girl goodbye and she promised to wait for him.
Some critics and religious sects believe that the boards only contacts evil spirits and demons who are intent on possessing the user. A lot of modern horror stories and films play on and amplify that fear.
The Ouija board is controversial for several reasons. One is that the board is unreliable as it is nearly impossible to tell if the user is moving the planchette or if the spirit is.
It is often used by teens and young adults to scare one another. The Ouija board has been owned and marketed by board game makers, the Parker Brothers since 1966.
It gained popularity after WWI, as many people wanted to speak to their loved ones who died on the battle field. While the Ouija board was first used for séances, it later became a popular party game.
The Ouija board is a device used to divine answers to questions by speaking to spirits. The user can ask simple yes or no questions or have spirits spell out the answers to more complex questions using the planchette.
Our next goodie is the history of the Ouija Board. It was invented in 1892 by Elija J. Bond. The name comes from the French word Oui and the German word Ja, which both are the word “yes” in their respective languages. The Ouija board has also been referred to as the spirit board or talking board.
If you do put your clothes on inside out, quickly turn them right side out, and then ask someone to whack you on the back to avoid getting beaten.
It’s #folklorefriday and the last day of October. So, let’s wrap up the month with a fun little grab bag. Let’s start with an odd superstition. If you wear you clothes inside out, you risk being beat up.
If you haven't read Namesake, I highly recommend it. It is exciting, fun, sweet, harrowing, an overall great read. Plus, as you can see the art is fantastic❣️

Watched The Raven (1963) last night with a nibbling who didn't want to Trick or Treat.

The magician's duel between Price & Karloff had them cackling.

It also took Mom a hot minute to recognize a young Jack Nicholson.
Trick or Treat starts at 6 pm & it's going to rain the whole time.

I'm going to give all the kids that show up extra candy.

This happens every year. You'd think the city would reschedule.
Finished the Seer Dragonair for Halloween.

Going to see a new dentist today.

I hate going to the dentist, as it's a sensory nightmare.

But, dental health is important.

*sighs in resignation*
