Absolutely ghoulish move by the USDA. Shame on them.
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

Hey! Long time no see 🥺💕 Sorry about that, but I started an animation job that’s keeping me busy most of the time, but I'm here again!💪🏻😎❤️
In the meantime, enjoy our lovebirds in matching outfits!😆💖

After the adventure of course they have to stick to still water, since without the tadpole Astarion is no longer protected from the effects of natural streams. Thankfully since night was usually downtime in camp, they don't mind too much when they have to stick to the night.
Kes loves to be near the water, and several of the campsites are near running water sources, so I think a lot of the time they slip off far enough up or downstream so the rest of the party can't hear to enjoy time with Astarion.

I like to think at least once they found a nice hot spring.

There's not much to do for a date while out on an adventure.

What's something they do with their love interest away from camp that's special just for them?

Mal loves quiet, dark places. He'll sneak Astarion off to the gloomiest place he can find to sit and talk, or cuddle and read.
I feel like the key here is don't lose hope but also don't shame yourself if you haven't been able to make it work! There are a lot of folks with the false impression that selling your art is easy or only takes being good at the art but it's also marketing and a lot of other stuff!
Today, however, I managed to walk in right when his newly remastered Dragon Quest game had a long cutscene he couldn't pause that was brand new content for the remaster so he didn't want to miss it.

It is inevitable.

Pause buttons I beg you.
Usually it's my partner walking in and wanting to chat right when I hit one (BG3 and both recent Zelda games - though at least with Zelda I guess you could rewatch them from the menu which is a sort of ok compromise but. They are soso long and sometimes I only missed one important bit.)
Game devs I am begging you to let us pause cutscenes. I swear there is some cardinal rule of the universe that you will either get an important can't-miss-it phone call or someone in the house will need to talk to you as soon as a cutscene happens in a game.
Of course the added problem with these mid level farms is sometimes the people do end up inadvertently voting against their own interests on account of being overworked and tired and believing the lies they're fed and it can be hard to change course.
tldr if people live in my kind of rural area I think they ARE seeing a different side of it, you know? Which is why it'd be nice if accessing the full spectrum of information was more... out there for people to find I guess.
Then again I think my region is more like... I guess bigger than small homestead farm but still well below the level of large commercial megafarm. That midpoint where you do have the big machines BUT if they break harvest has to pause because you can't afford to replace and need to DIY repairs.
I think sometimes it also depends where you live. My area IS actually mostly family farmers who are getting raked over the coals by whatever company does the buying, so here you can have acreage and still be losing money. Then people get mad when they want to rent the land out for solar. x.x;;

*pushes Mariah Carey back into the freezer* No. NO. Y'all can defrost her AFTER we've defrosted the turkey. NOT BEFORE.
Here's how to turn that shit off as a creator:
Ah nope you CAN disable it on a per channel basis (and it looks like FOR NOW as a viewer you should also be able to stop it from upscaling in the video quality settings in the player itself, which you WILL have to do per video)
Wait so we can't just opt out our whole channel? Ugh I have old chunky unlisted home videos dating back to the early 2000s when youtube was a very different platform. x.x

New career path: Telling everyone that I use generative AI for everything (and then just half-assing it with my own brain) so people I don’t respect throw piles of money at me and are cool with the final product being bad.
As someone who didn't get the game until AFTER the initial craze was over maybe this means I can play with friends and finally not be all lonely on my island. 😂
