God, hearing the Microsoft AI CEO talk about how they want Copilot to be my "companion" who hears what I hear and sees what I see just makes me want to not use a computer anymore.

I don't want a companion who surveils my entire life. Even my WIFE doesn't get to know me that well.

this is great to remember not only as a writer, but as a consumer of media. when you find yourself getting annoyed at a story for a character doing something that "makes no sense," give yourself a richer experience instead by asking what might that say about the character, the story, and its themes?

I've played a lot of games that were a waste of time, but this thing is astoundingly bad even by that metric. I never knew that there were multiple endings, so getting The Worst One that made all the hours I poured into it totally pointless on the first try soured me on ever touching it again

UBC has developed an enzyme that can convert donor organs to type O, making them universal.
Normally a using organs of the wrong blood type causes the recipient's immune system to attack the organ, leading to failure.
