Another take of Hedy and her canine companion at Hedgerow Farm. She was married at the time to Gene Markey and the “Hedge” in Hedgerow came from combining their first names.

When I interviewed her for my book Gillian Armstrong told me that the studio was interfering when they were maybe a day behind schedule filming MRS. SOFFEL and Diane Keaton called the studio and said “Leave Gil alone. She’s doing a great job.” And the studio left her alone the rest of the shoot.

Rest in peace to the great Diane Keaton, fearless and unique, a dream actress indeed. 📷 Norman Seeff, Los Angeles, 1975

An adorable publicity shot of Mitzi Gaynor and Jean Peters on the set of TAKE CARE OF MY LITTLE GIRL (1951). Jean Peters was #BornThisDay in 1926.

It was such a pleasure to write the essay for Criterion's 4K+Blu Ray of CAPTAIN BLOOD, a movie I dearly love. And for friends who love commentaries, note that this has one from Curtiz biographer (and fount of knowledge) Alan K. Rode @thetallcinephile.bsky.social www.criterion.com/films/29013-...

I'm shocked by the passing of the legendary, charming, beautifully quirky, and forever endearing Diane Keaton.

An all-time favorite of mine. No matter the role she played, no matter her fashion, she did it perfectly. There was no one like her; there never will be.

Rest in Heaven, our Annie Hall.

I'm sad/angry that there will no new Diane Keaton films, but happy/grateful that we still have the ones she left behind. I don't think I'll ever get over her not being on earth anymore. She was truly one of a kind.
