This administration clearly is land to weaponize the grand jury process even more than has been done in recent years.

We have some resources that can understand what a grand jury is and help you be prepared
The alleged "victim" in the Kat Abughezaleh indictment was wearing civilian dress. The car is described as govt vehicle, but no description of it being marked.

What is a grand jury and why would ICE bring one to Chicago?

We got you covered here with a video explaining the ins and outs of it with grand jury resistors and legal scholars and Palestinian organizers.

Based on this indictment and several others, we see that the government has empaneled a grand jury to look into activities that inconvenience ICE in any way in an attempt to criminalize Chicagoans.

I'll link to resources from @lucyparsonslabs.com below->
I have been charged in a federal indictment sought by the Department of Justice.

This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win.

"Nearly everyone involved in this effort is a woman: the work of finding missing family members, like many other forms of labor for incarcerated people, is largely carried by women."
Freddy wrote this wonderful essay for @truthout.org about ICE's weaponized disorientation and the collective will towards liberation. It also touches on political theory and how we create a praxis. Please read.
The forced kidnappings of our neighbors in Chicago can inflict some deep psychological pain. We must resist this urge and find waits to keep fighting. My latest on faith, solidarity, and reflections on seeing one take place in @truthout.org.
Watching disappearances in our community leaves psychological trauma, but we can counter these urges with our solidarity.

Eman is a wonderful person and we are very angry she has been arrested. Free Eman. Free them all.
These fascists have taken my friend, Palestinian scholar and feminist @emanabdelhadi.bsky.social into custody.
The last few weeks, we've been working to connected with the family of the person taken by ICE and are building a campaign to get his out.

But he was the only person working for his wife and kids and we need to raise money for a lawyer and his family's living expenses.

CONFIRMED: ICE activity in Maplewood and North in Chicago’s Wicker Park / Humboldt neighborhood. Just saw a neighbor kidnapped.
Here is what we saw; two (and only two) masked agents with DHS and Homeland Security on their back driving a single car pulled up on our neighbor, threw him in the back of their car, and sped of. That’s what I know. Location 10:10am 9/17/25 ^

If your organization has *a thing* it needs public engagement on, we can easily load it into Postal Pulse and then your community can then blast it to the City Council.
🤠 NEW ORGANIZING TOOL 🧗 LPL has developed Postal Pulse, a new webapp that makes it easy to find and contact your elected officials about Chicago ordinances. Right now, you can use it to oppose the City's mandatory camera expansion network.

NEXT WEEK: Berkeley CA is organizing against its Flock ALPR contract and is holding a rally before the next city council meeting.

The entire *value* of the ALPR network derives from mass collection and mass data sharing (i.e. the network effect) between Flock's clients.

The *economics* dictate that they will share data with the Feds again and again and again.
