The goofy ass cyberpunk dystopia of Amazon Prime's #Upload series did not get the love it deserved when the show was still ongoing. This is some of the scariest shit I can imagine and the way they presented it was hilarious, with enough jokes to keep you from realizing how horrendous this world is.

I completely get why people think like this, but I am begging people to remember that there is a shocking number of people who just fucking suck. Unambiguously bad people are a reality and the number of them that are out there is disappointingly high. It's not an impossible number but it's high.

I know we have to suspend our disbelief, but this feels a touch too far. I can only stretch my imagination; the part of my brain that helps me picture the scenarios I worry about, so much.

I have a deep dislike for ideas that feel good in the moment but fall apart when scrutinized even a little. Fate is probably the worst offender in this regard.

I hope some Christians, Jewish people, Muslims, & other abrahamists eventually grapple with the simultaneous fact that this kind of thinking is an inevitable consequence of belief both in omnipotence and omniscience & is INCREDIBLY shitty. This is an EXTREMELY Abrahamic line of thinking & it sucks.
