As they get back on social and gain confidence in the new Trump era, the Proud Boys are also getting back into the streets.

Enrique Tarrio told me they plan to have a presence in Portland by the end of the month. talkingpointsmemo.com/news/in-the-...

Headlines going to the English requirements but I'd completely missed this part of the plans, yet another act of idiotic self harm. Completely incompatible with the government's stated aims on housebuilding, growth, etc.

Good god, the last thing the UK government should want is for other countries to reciprocally increase their language requirements for *checks notes* British people.

As I’ve said before, you really don’t want hundreds of thousands of us coming back to the UK embittered, angry and poor.

One mistake Labour made in their first year is loading quite a few new costs onto business all at once. They are risking doing something similar on immigration, I think.

Cadet groups have opened in kindergartens in at least 26 regions of Russia. Preschoolers are being taught hand-to-hand combat and firearms training.

This is terrifying and disgusting on so many levels. And this will remain a problem for years and decades to come.

"There's going to have to be a change of leadership..."

Sir Mark Lyall Grant, who served as UK ambassador to the UN, says he can't see how President Trump's Gaza peace plan can "get to the final stage" under the current Israeli or Palestinian leadership.

The decline in Russian oil purchases comes amid tightening economic measures by the US. In August, President Donald Trump imposed an additional 25% tariff on India for purchasing Russian oil.

However, while state-owned refineries are cutting supplies, private refiners are increasing volumes.

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.

Trump IMV remains a strategic disasterzone, even if with Syria and maybe Gaza a specific confluence of circumstances means he might push towards better outcomes.

But let's not pretend that Bush, Obama and Biden didn't make a contribution to the disastrous condition the global order is now in.

Something a bit problematic in US-centric commentary about the potential trajectory of Trump's efforts to get this Gaza ceasefire to stick that ignores Israeli and Palestinian responses on the ground signalling how it might be different to Biden's efforts.
