Another Dark Academia fantasy that takes place at an elite, private institution.

Any suggestions for the same themes being explored at small state school or community college? You know, like average people attend?

Kamilah Cole's transition to adult fantasy is a fast-paced takedown of dark academia (with a little romance on the side). @bookjockeyalex.bsky.social reviews her follow-up to So Let Them Burn; come share your thoughts on An Arcane Inheritance!

One of the things I am hoping for from the movement of Bovino out of the Minneapolis limelight are fewer short jokes.

How tall is Homan?
"This is our fuc*ing city," so sayeth pint-sized wannabe tough guy
Seems like a good video for his trial

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

imagine the moral black hole it takes to read this litany of stories and the takeaway from dem leadership is "we cant say abolish ice, people will say we're soft on crime, how about we just endorse retraining the brown shirts instead?"

Remember when podcasters, politicians, bloggers, radio hosts news stations and the rest of the RW scream machine were against even a RUMOR of Federal military oppresion?

Critics want subtlety. Traumatized kids need clarity. Stranger Things doesn't win because it's subtle. It wins because it's not afraid to say the truth out loud to the people who need to hear it most. www.kameronhurley.com/we-are-the-s...

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

No one who has used the phrase “hill I am willing to die on” is willing to actually die on a hill and 50% of the people who use this Rockwell painting don’t hold unpopular opinions and the other 50% don’t have the balls to stand up and disagree with their neighbors on important issues irl.

An absolute classic of the urban high school genre with an appearance by a young Rob Reiner as well as a young Dude. I caught it once when I was flipping channels in the 80's and recall it fondly and rewatch when I can.

RIP Mr. Reiner.

My feed is suddenly awash in photos of people flexing and bragging about their workout. Fine, but at least a third of them are photos taken in gym locker rooms. When did that become okay? It's against the rules of every gym I've belonged to, is illegal in some places, and is just downright skeevie.
