This really needs to be stressed, as it seems obvious Trump is going to let them vote to release it and then pretend his hands are tied.

He’s had the power to release them all along, and still does. It’s just his excuses that are changing.
The second paragraph of every article about Trump freeing House Republicans to vote to release the Epstein files should make it clear that he could order them released himself and chooses not to.

Biden didn’t release the Epstein files because Merrick Garland was actively investigating Epstein/Maxwell co-conspirators all the way up until January 2025. Then Trump shuttered the probe. www.cbsnews.com/news/jeffrey...
House Democrats press DOJ for details on Epstein co-conspirators probe that was "inexplicably killed"
Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein provided the Justice Department with "precise and detailed" information about 20 alleged co-conspirators, House Democrats say.

If that's Giuffre's name under the redaction bar, then prove it. Remove the redaction. You've already told us it's Giuffre, so you wouldn't be doing anything illegal. So reveal it. Or can't you? Because it's not her?
CNN: The emails that were released don't raise any Qs for you?

GIMENEZ: Not right now, no

C: The email where Epstein says to Maxwell that Trump spent hours at his house w/someone whose name is redacted who Republicans are saying is Virginia Giuffre?

G: Right. And she said Trump did nothing wrong

HOLY COW. Basically, as folks note in the comments. Halligan allowed the court reporter to believe they were done for the day but then called the Grand Jury back. There is no judge, etc at these. So very likely she reconvened with no court reporter.

I can't see how charges stand if that's true.
Today, the judge deciding the legality of Lindsey Halligan's appointment said the court reporter stopped transcribing grand jury proceedings in the Comey case at 4:28 PM. That's over TWO HOURS that's missing.

Oh. Was it the part where Halligan said the jurors couldn’t leave unless they returned an indictment? (I have no proof that happened. Just speculating. But she kept them until 7 PM and they indicted on a two-vote margin.)

Moral vacuity aside, I don’t see how you could properly phrase a question for survey research along the lines of “do you approve of how the president and his team been concealing his personal involvement with the notorious child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and his victims?”

Hey, remember when Mike Johnson lied about Donald Trump being an FBI informant focused on bringing down Jeffrey Epstein? Did we ever get any resolution on that? Seems important, given these new emails implicating Trump in Epstein's abuse.

Precisely. As a world “leader” the U.S. is done for decades.

In a White House meeting with civil rights leaders in early 2021, President Biden recounted his first trip to Europe. Biden he announced to them, “America’s back!” The European leaders said “yeah, but for how long?”

They were skeptical.
There's arguably no effective way for any future administration to undo the strategic damage being done to the U.S.'s relations with these and other states.

No matter what we do, the U.S. will be seen as an untrustworthy, craven & mercurial "partner"—something simply to be endured or hedged.
