My birth was a fairly seismic happening..! The hospital was like: no, that's it, we can't beat that. Shut it all down. SHUT IT DOWN! 🤣 I have randomly met a few people born in that hospital and it's a nice little common bond. 😊 That it no longer exists.

A full-price Firebird game BITD at £7.95, Zzap! still loved it, giving it a well-deserved 88%. It is a cracking game, epsecially in 2-Ply. Having a Bud play the Golem is a really, really charming and fun experience.

The game also had some decent production values, giving you this title screen on the carousel after the game had loaded in. The skull is animated slightly. Druid is essentially a fleshed-out Guantlet clone, but it is so much more. If you have never played it, find the manual and do so!

A blue-robed wizard (Druid?) is gazing into a scrying ball with an image of a green landscape with a river running through it and the manifewstation of a demon skull in the sky. It's pretty natty. C64 "Druid" title screen.

I have fond memories of my brother playing this as I returned home from school one day. We used to have this shop in Plymouth city centre that, yes, rented #C64 games for a week! Not sure how legal that was, frankly. Druid is a great game and one I had almost forgotten about.

Cracking loading screen for the C64 version of "Druid". A purple-robed, white-bearded wizard (more likely: Druid) is on the ramparts firing magic at a massive demonic skull in the distance. A castle is in the background, with stone steps in the grounds descending into the gloow and trap doors and trees and all sorts - CATS AND DOGS LIVING TOGEHTER!
