A game I never played until my 40s, but one I knew of & wondered if I would ever get around to it on the #C64 or even on its big sister. Since then, I have been playing the remastered version and it is cracking. Genius the 2018 remakes. Get involved.

So, another new one on me - think LED Storm and then make it much worse - BINGO! I think this was an #Amiga developed game and then ported "down" to the #C64. I'm not sure which version is worse... It "should" be an okay game and it could have been, but, the lack of speed...

Ho! I was never really a fan of MotR, I just found it too damn annoyingly difficult, but I always believed the mags to have loved the #C64 games. Turns out not so much..? From 90% for MotR to less than 50% for the follow up. Oh fie! Decent Hubbards mind... 😎

I never owned this BITD on the #C64, but I recall seeing it, and indeed I just re-read the review in CF1 whilst having a coffee in my kitchen. I also just spent 10 minutes playing the game - it is nowhere near as terrible as the Zzap! reviews made out. It was rather fun, actually.

Die Hard
One of the only, if not THE Only #C64 game I have known that at Game Over, it allows you to quit to the "desktop" (BASIC boot screen). This game is turgid, but it does have some nice static graphic scenes. John McClane has been on Big Ron's BIG Pies, clearly. Kinda fun mind.

One of the only, if not THE Only #C64 game I have known that at Game Over, it allows you to quit to the "desktop" (BASIC boot screen). This game is turgid, but it does have some nice static graphic scenes. John McClane has been on Big Ron's BIG Pies, clearly. Kinda fun mind.

This is really a very good shooter for the #C64 - I never really gave it a chance before, but, with freeform multi-directional scrolling, power ups and a balanaced difficulty, with it's ogrgeous backdrops and fluid play - this is great fun. Often overlooked.

The #C64 conversion of AB is slow as hell, boring, blocky and just a bag of shite. This loading image and another AB logo image I couldn't seem to find IRL, is the best thing about the game. It really is rubbish. Mags reviewed it at 75% or thereabouts. Nope.

I played / streamed this last night and was blown away by the voice acting, mid-70s interiors (and oil rig exteriors) and general pace and narrative of the game as a whole. Also: utterly terrifying. I got about halfway, maybe less, but had some Twonk in the Live Chat spoilering. [VID BELOW]
