The idea that this terror campaign against our city could still be going in a year from now is too much for me to wrap my head around. We cannot let them rob us of our art, our joy. Our communities. We cannot.

This morning we had a board meeting for my NFP theater company that does free Shakespeare in Chicago’s parks with cast and crew that reflect our city’s diversity and someone mentioned that it might not be safe for us to put on our productions next summer came up and I cannot handle the thought.

The Trib was also completely silent about Homan Square when the story broke years ago and went many years before making any mention of even those two words together.

I have theories but I keep them to myself.
