How come reply guys, when called out, always resort to "couldn't resist a joke" or "just a joke"? There's no humor, nothing funny, just being a pest.

I wrote a story about guys being pests, and it starts with "just a joke." It doesn't end with a laugh though. Their interactions never do.

I had a thought. I've been questioned many times, why I put Trinidadian dialect in my novella that is set centuries in the future.

The main refrain was, wouldn't that have been phased out?
And my thought was...would ppl make the same comment if I had used latin? or something latin sounding?

ICYMI, my story "My Mother is the Water," my Ghibli-esque tale about a girl who slowly turns into a bluegill, is free to read on F(r)iction's website. I'd be so grateful if you gave it a read, and I hope it warms your heart in these tough times.
Oh hey! My story "My Mother is the Water" is available to read online in F(r)iction latest issue. This is a story inspired by the lakes of my hometown, about a girl called to the water yet doesn't want to leave the aunt who raised her.

Psychopomp is one of the best publishing teams on the planet and I love being a part of it.

They consistently put out amazing work. But most of all, they are such good people.

Please support The Deadlands if you're able. We can't lose another. ❤️❤️

The reality for speculative fiction zines and publishers is pretty damn terrible right now. I know many of us are struggling to keep it together, and they are too.

Read this, mourn what we lost, and, as much as you can, support the zines and publishers you love.

Read this and then: support the zines and publishers you love. It is tough, rough times for small publishers and zines. Do what you can to help them continue their good work.
