self-portrait as a Small Creature
A small, slightly jerboa-shaped creature: it has a small upturned snout, tiny protruding fangs, big wet eyes, vaguely ratlike ears pressed flat in stress, a very long floppy tail and shaggy brown fur everywhere but its limbs and nose, which are hairless. It’s really hard to describe to people who are not artists how survival mode does *not* inspire creativity, as the myth would have us believe. It suppresses creativity as you try to limit every possible risk – and the opportunities that come with them.

Day 272: Bappity-bap-bap

This one actually took 40 min., but I wrote 50 out of the months-long habit. Anyway, it was nice to throw out a quick one before we get into October -- I've got some fun stuff planned, stay tuned 😺
