The family of the late SE25 artist Neil Fraser has been auctioning off his artworks. But nobody wants this guant kit model of the Schwerer Gustav railway gun that he built. If you do, email the address in the pic and the alt.text. 1/2

So today, apropos of nothing, I met a jewel belonging to someone called Lady Dash (an ancestor of the owner).
It wasn’t valuable as treasure but exuded tales of history and I hope I pointed it in the right direction.
But who was Lady Dash? Can anyone help? Maybe @garius.bsky.social ?

Is he still here?
A constant blazing terror that somewhere, somebody might be getting a free cheese sandwich. Or indeed brief use of a wheelchair.

Vaccines work w/ what we already have. Not vaccinating b/c we already have an immune system is like saying I don't need to work out b/c I have muscles.

I’ve just finished re-reading (third time) Andrew Smith’s fabulous ‘Moondust’ in which he goes on a mission to meet all of the surviving men who walked on the moon. 20 years ago that numbered 9. Now there are only 4 left (including Schmitt)

It’s a great book, if you haven’t read it.
53 years ago, on the 7th of December 1972, the last Apollo mission was launched. The famous 'The Blue Marble' picture was taken by members of the crew as they left earth. The Apollo 17 mission ended on December 19th. On board were Eugene Cernan, Ronald Evans and Harrison Schmitt. #otd #history 🗃️

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

I can attest to this, it's disgusting. Hull is a good example, a nurse - in uniform, walking to her job at the hospital was randomly punched in the face and knocked to the ground.
That would not have happened 20 years ago, we have allowed a sick narrative to take over and it needs to stop.

I suspect the real reason Nigel Farage is getting so rattled by the racism allegations is that:

1) He knows he said all these things so can't properly deny them
2) He knows that he carried on saying them well into adulthood
