This is insane.
Some context to the viral videos:

Around 9am Friday, ICE/CBP *encircled* several square miles of a safe suburb and *stormed* it using multiple units.

They were in cars, on foot in alleys & gangways, and in helicopters. They demanded papers, threatened residents, pointed guns, kidnapped people.

And I cannot even get into how many people in our community are here because they or their parents or grandparents were being hunted and terrorized in Germany, Eastern Europe, Russia & the Soviet Union.

They know what this is. They know it's happening here.

Schools went on lockdown, people stayed inside. It lasted the entire afternoon. A constant din of whistles, sirens, helicopters, people shouting. Or dead silence.

I see the NYT, New Yorker, commentariat frame it as "activists clashing with ICE."

No.

ICE/CBP/DHS are terrorizing US citizens.

The viral videos show horrifying events, but do not capture the fact that they were EVERYWHERE and took people from at least 3 separate neighborhoods. This was not a one street, one incident event. It was a military style siege stretching from Calvary cemetery to Skokie.

Has even a single House Democrat called for him to step down yet?

At this point I’m so over the political parties I literally don’t even know if I would vote yes on prop 50.

I don’t really give a shit if the democrats win the congress or not given how broken they are.

They could have fixed gerrymandering in 2021 and they didn’t.
do something about it!

The vast majority of Americans don’t realize what he’s doing are actual crimes *because nobody is impeaching him*!

Americans expect their institutions to respond to these things. When they don’t, they think, “oh it must not rise to that level” and go back to watching The Voice.

And what did the Biden administration do?
When JPMorgan alerted the Trump administration to the existence of $1 billion in funds Epstein held which were clearly connected to child trafficking, Trump responded by suppressing the information. Why?

Funny how the same editors that dedicated a year-long campaign to convince us Zohran Mamdani is the enemy of the Hebrew people have now decided Graham Platner, a man with at least one actual Nazi tattoo, is a culture hero for our time. Who can say what the difference is?

Christ.
The Trump administration firing nearly all of the Special Education workers at the Department of Education sends a clear message:

They don’t believe that children with disabilities deserve an equal education.

The cruelty is staggering.
oh, 🙄 are you going to do something about it?

And as a policy wonk, this is what separated me from the party decades ago. A "big tent" party, by design, has no values. It cares only to hold power for its own sake.

We deserve better than that. We deserve reps that actually fight for and with the people. That center our needs, not theirs.
People really don't want better messaging from the Democratic Party.

If I wanted to be yet another communications consultant, I could make tons of suggestions to strengthen the message but its all mostly bullshit.

The big problem is the policies and politics suck.

My openness to “conspiracy theories” expands when the guy who is literally in charge of the military openly says that he wants to blow up countries so he can steal their oil.

At a certain point the conspiracy theory starts being everyone who is like “but he doesn’t mean that though”.

Isn't it interesting the but-he-doesn't-mean-it crowd is so, so quiet. If there is one thing you cannot fault them for, it's the agenda which they spelled out in capital letters.

And this works for anything. Every organization is compromised of real humans and no organization can do evil things without the direction and participation of the people within it.

Find out who those people are and call them out. The more powerful the better.

People I know who've worked in the House say something similar (keep in mind the House has far fewer staff per member).

So just remember to understand things enough that you can call out your own specific members and verbalize their own complicity.
