Separating multi-ton cars from people on bikes will save more lives than helmets ever will
Even though nobody wears bike helmets in the Netherlands, the fatality rate there is significantly smaller than that of the United States. What have they figured out that we haven't?
How I Learned to Cycle Like a Dutchman

Danish Man: How many people ride bikes in your town?

Bart: The paper boy, till Dad hit him.

Lisa: Sadly, the one headline he couldn't deliver.
More bikes than cars. That means more people moving in less space with less public cost, less pollution, more retail spending, longer and healthier lives, greater happiness etc. In more and more centre cities the Simpsons is proving prophetic.

You can't enable emergency services with narrow bike lanes. Build them wide and eliminate the gridlock caused by the inefficient geometry of cars in cities.

A common argument for car dependency is "the weather.", but people are resilient. With the right infrastructure, cycling becomes a practical choice for transportation, rain or shine.

Weather is not the barrier that many people claim it is when it comes to cycling. Infrastructure and good clothing are the enabler.

Whether you like it or not, choosing to cycle for transportation is a political act.

Every time you choose a bike for a local trip, you are stating with every pedal stroke:
->I deserve safe streets.
->I deserve affordable choices.
->I refuse to be boxed into your one-size-fits-all car culture.
