Y'all getting tired of me saying it? 🌈

"Long considered niche, LGBTQ travel now represents one of the most influential segments in tourism. The global LGBTQ market was valued at > $320 billion in 2024 and is forecasted to exceed $630 billion by 2033." 👏👏👏

LGBTQ travelers represent a $320B market. As DEI comes under fire, leading travel brands stay committed to inclusion and growth.

Said it before, I'll say it again w/ Keira Knightley feigning ignorance.

If you took the fat JKR check + now you feel bad about it, a great way to show accountability + rebuild trust among LGBTQ+ fans is by donating to queer and trans nonprofits.

It's always depressing when I come across AI-written tour descriptions. Immediate erosion of trust that my experience will be enriching or personal.

We aren't on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We are in the middle of it.

But I worry people don't see the whole scheme. They just pay attention to each new daily outrage. So I went to the Senate floor to explain Trump's plan.

Here's a 🧵of the speech. It's important.

Thank you David Simon for reminding the non-creative class that we do not need AI to create, AI in fact needed artists to run its predictive algos, and AI needs us as a society to buy into its bs use cases to keep the economy afloat.

Nevertheless we resist.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

Another day, another great excuse to finally cancel your NYT subscription and put that money toward media that actually serves the public interest.

Doug Wilson co-authored a (plagiarized) book that defended the institution of slavery *as it was practiced in the antebellum South*. This is how Douthat introduced the subject while providing him with the NYT's platform:
Douthat: So, just to take a related example, one of the controversies of many that you’ve been mixed up in has to do with slavery, and whether slavery is absolutely forbidden by the Bible, absolutely forbidden to Christians, or whether it is critiqued, but allowed for.

Wilson: Right.

Douthat: And you think it is critiqued, but allowed for.

Wilson: Right.

Douthat: On this, on a straightforward reading of the New Testament, I would agree with you. I would say, pretty clearly, there is a pretty clear path from the message of the Bible to the abolition of slavery. But there is no moment in the New Testament when Jesus insists on the manumission of slaves.

Wilson: Right.

Marjorie Taylor Greene just said the Republican Party is “getting destroyed” during this government shutdown as they refuse to protect health care.

“Everyone’s just getting destroyed... Republicans, you have no solutions... It is hurting so many people.”

Reflecting on all the shit things people said to me as a baby gay:

"It's just a phase!" Nah bro that was heterosexuality.

"Who's the man?" There is no man, that's the whole point.

"How do you know if you've never kissed a girl?" How did you know you were straight before you kissed a guy?

I'm sick to my stomach at the thought of going back to a world where conversion therapy to 'fix' queer and trans kids is allowed.

And furious.

Mostly furious.

Would any of your books be banned because of who you are or the topics you write about? Because for me it sure AF ain't stale!

Especially as more states pass anti-LGBTQ laws, trans and queer travelers need to think carefully about safety when choosing where to stay. Are you an Airbnb person, or do you prefer the comfort and anonymity of a hotel?

Didn't the NYT say that too, right before the election?

How far the paper of record hath fallen.

If you still subscribe ("for the games"), today's a great day to cancel that @nytimes sub.

SCOOP — Pennsylvania prosecutors were alerted to possible voting irregularities by one of MAGA's leading voices against voter fraud. A long paper trail shows Jack Posobiec has been living in Maryland but voting using his parents' PA address for years.
