Drop Everything and Read.
It’s done with Y 7 and 8 children. One lesson a week (no matter what) is reading. Across the half-term they’re introduced to a range of books on a theme. It’s a bit of a cross between guided reading/class novel and ind reading. Today’s was Witch Watch. (New to me too!)

Thank you Rachel. 3/5 went well, 1 was okay and 1 (first lesson) was a bit trickier. They’ll settle down.
I’ve become a year 11 tutor too, so that was very different.

(I also joined the year 11 revision class as thats what I’m teaching in Y9. Good to see someone else teaching it.)
