It really made me realize that some people don’t really want good art from good folks, they want a dopamine hit in the moment and then when things get stressful they start regretting it. Seeing buying art as something they can just change their mind on, like artists don’t pay real bills.

I don’t want a computer that I have to talk to and confer with like it’s a real person, or to do all my thinking and creative process for me.

I want a computer that just does the task I need it to do so I can get work done, log off and go live my life.

I have stated and will continue to state that AI art gives the same dopamine that gambling gives. The time I looked into it and gave it a try in the early stages, as someone who struggles with gambling addiction, it hit all the cravings. But as an artist I was conflicted enough to not take the bait.

the powers that be want you to know less about your computer. they are taking away your beautiful file pathing, keyboard inputs, considered mouse clicks, and expertise of your OS. everything will soon be done by mumbling into the open air and praying it works correctly. this is a nightmare.

it's very, very tempting to go down the "i suck, i'm terrible, i'm awful" route because you might think it's the opposite of arrogance... but i promise you, it doesn't come off humble. it smacks of desperation, and of an expectation that you'll argue against the point they're making. don't do it.

lrp very important addendum, "learn to laugh at yourself" does not mean "relentlessly self-deprecate". a person that can accept their own foibles with grace is charming. a person that is always putting themselves down is exhausting
