In the past week, a voice over agency got bullied off Twitter for posting that actors refusing to work with AI are “cutting off their noses to spite their face.”

We need more energy like that, especially when companies straight up just use AI instead of actors and assume nobody will say shit.

"Efficiency in Image and Material Generation
With very few materials, they can generate character model sheets + 3D models, allowing for the testing of multiple designs and their artistic outcomes."

Something to keep an eye on.

I find it frustrating how the games’ communities & many VAs seem to have unanimously decided to mistreat anyone trying to fight for their rights in this manner.
I play Genshin and do care about the quality of the product, but having unvoiced characters is far preferrable to exploitation.

Recently the voice actor for Dr Ratio in Honkai Star Rail came out in support of Charlie Kirk and his ideals, and when saying this he added in one of many posts that “many fellow VAs feel the same.”

Some actors have hand waved this statement as bullshit.

But I do think it’s important to examine.

I don't find it coincidental that Al hawkers start with attempting to artificially replace a woman actor instead of a man. Men aren't viewed as products (=resented for exhibiting agency) to the same extent, so starting with a male Al actor presentation would probably be viewed even more negatively

Gender is a class structure that will ideally blur and eventually fade away some day. People will be able to express themselves however they want, their behavior won’t be tied to expectations of gender.
I don’t see how that could possibly be a bad thing.
It doesn’t invalidate trans people now.
