New from me: I’ve been asked a lot, and I finally had time to put together a short explainer for both the legal and tactical considerations of Trump’s strikes in the Caribbean and Pacific.

Unlocked for everyone.

Without fear or favour is meaningless and worthless if aristocratic privilege overrides justice. Equality of outcome is literally the point of that principle. Without fear or favour is nothing but propaganda, a lie to offer a false assurance of equality, unless Andrew stands trial
“This isn’t about whether Andrew was friends with a criminal. It’s about whether #Andrew is a criminal. Until that issue is addressed by the police and politicians, without fear or favour, there is no chance of justice for #VictimsOfAbuse.”

It will also bring more of them crawling out of the woodwork.
Nail on head! And that’s apparently why they voted for Brexshit.
Slightly off topic, but I’m always struck by how angry they always are,
these Reform types.

It says a lot about how low the bar has been set that I'm actually impressed Streeting, Lammy et al have called this out.
Pochin's comments were hideously racist, but calling out racism, no matter how explicit, is something fewer and fewer politicians seem willing to do.

Reform MP Sarah Pochin's comments about adverts were 'racist', Wes Streeting says
Sarah Pochin apologises for saying "it drives me mad when I see adverts full of black people, full of Asian people".

I think it’s something to do with the shift of the Overton window to the right - what used to be unacceptable is now mainstream.

First the slop came from scammers
And I did not speak out
Because I was not fooled

Then the slop came from bots
And I did not speak out
Because I just blocked them

Then the slop came from cute animal videos
And I was like, "I can't even watch cute animal videos anymore? This sucks."
I’ve gradually been getting to this stage and find it useful and frustrating in equal measure.
You mean a simple word count or a count of different words?🤔
Thanks so much for expressing what I experience every time I do a search online: I grit my teeth, knowing that it will be hard work, sometimes even leading to despair.

Foundation stone for Alfred Waterhouse's Manchester Town Hall was laid on this day 1868. Took almost 10 years to erect at a cost approaching £1m, described as ‘unequalled for size, completeness and adaptability for its purpose among the municipal buildings of Europe’.
It’s a great building. Including Ford Madox Brown murals!😊
To hell with the Nobel Peace Prize.

Merkley: "What we've seen is that democracies no longer die bc men w/guns go in and take it over. Instead, it's electeds who erode the separation of power. If you have a rubber-stamp Congress & courts that deliver more power to the executive, suddenly you have an authoritarian state. It's here now."
