Sidenote; this is a similar reason why those Wicked movies, despite the source material having the potential to make a visually compelling film, look Like That.

-hiring cinematographers or directors capable of doing that, & established enough to be trusted with that risk. The Barbie movie did this by hiring Greta Gerwig & it paid off. Problem is, The Disney Corp is not gonna do that. They couldnt even get a guy who SOUNDS LIKE KERMIT to voice kermit.
