Serious Q: is it too late to give this dude the Nobel Peace Prize? 🐸 🏆

Another angle of yellow flower pot mushroom #fungi #fungusamongus
Top of yellow mushroom appears like an umbrella. Pine cones surround it. Why can’t I have an umbrella that looks like a mushroom that would be so cool

Yellow mushroom (flower pot parasol?) that was a surprise #yellowsunday #fungifriends #mycology
Yellow mushroom with long gills. Pine cones in background. My camera wouldn’t focus on anything else and it kept getting blurred. Have mercy my phone was covered in dirt

Censorship is the mark of a weak regime.
Image of an X post screenshot. The post from @CBotTh
... (C-Bo the Eggman) reads, "Banning words should do the trick," posted 20 hours ago. Below it, a Politico post from @politico
(1 day ago) states, "Energy Dept. adds 'climate change' and 'emissions' to banned words list," with the Politico logo. The image includes profile pictures and timestamps.

Eastern black swallowtail butterfly (Papilio polyxenes) on orange marigold. Sometimes these butterflies are so shy it’s nearly impossible to photograph. Other times they’re friendly (like this one)! #inverts #butterflies #insects #gardens #naturephotography

Thinking about all of my US colleagues today that work for USGS, USFWS, US Parks Service, NOAA and the EPA. From front line environmental practitioners to scientists and policy makers, these folks ensure that waters are swimmable, fish are edible, that natural areas are accessible, etc, etc, etc.

Okay, I warned you yesterday but SPIDER POST SPIDER POST SPIDER POST. Look. Spiders are great! They're our friends. They do good work out there and in our houses. I love spiders and how can you not love THIS spider, who is both a work of art *and* wildly successful at this game of hide-and-seek?
I DON'T SEE ANY SPIDER HERE DO YOU SEE A SPIDER HERE GOSH I SURE HOPE THAT ANYBUGGY WHO WANTS TO COME VISIT THIS FLOWER DOESN'T SEE A SPIDER HERE okay fine there's a spider here. This landscape-oriented photo is a black-eyed susan except tucked against the middle of the flower is a perfectly blended-in crab spider. A white-banded crab spider, maybe? Even though there's no white band -- this spider is yellow as the flower's pedals, with reddish Rorshach test ink blots on its plump crabby body that also blends into the center of the flower. It's really something else. You can barely see it. Spiders are so cool. They're great. I am admittedly glad they're not human-sized, though, though I guess that's true of all bugs, even the cute ones. Photo by me, Chuck Wendig
