Rob Reiner was an American Icon who, through his art and activism, held a mirror up to American culture. His talent, humor, activism, and patriotism will be missed. Our heart breaks at the senseless loss of our friend.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

WOW! This ad cuts clear to the bone. 11 years to the day after Sandy Hook massacre... and a day after Brown University shooting and... I lived just 25 miles away, and a few days before a guaranteed next mass shooting in America.

Fuck "thoughts & prayers!"

Majoring in Survival: Brown University offers prestige and libraries but safety is no longer on the syllabus. When a student survives 2 shootings before graduation, the social contract is obliterated. Generation efficiently trained to ace finals while expecting the next inevitable shooter.
America Is Failing Its Children

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

This is insanity! We are not the country that believes in freedom or the greatest nation in the world if this is how we think things should be for our children. Vote for leaders who support sensible gun laws and fight for change. Enough!!!
This is college in the United States. Video from inside a Brown University building shows the moment that police found a group of students who were sheltering after the shooting on campus. This isn't freedom.

on this day in 2012, 20 children and 6 adults are killed in mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. And with the awful shooting at Brown University yesterday, we still haven't done anything on meaningful national gun laws. Enough is enough.

What happened on Saturday at Brown University is devastating. My heart is with the students, families, and the Providence community.

This is not inevitable. We know what saves lives. When leaders refuse to act, that is a choice, and people pay for it.
