One of them feels more positive! One of them is more fun! And that’s why people like Ranma! Because it’s fluffy and silly and playfully horny! It’s so fun to see that energy brought from page to screen!

I wouldn’t say Ranma is intentionally queer art, but I do believe part of why it resonates with queer folks is the manga doing “it’s funny people don’t care he turns into a girl because they think his girl form is cute” instead of “oh whoops better hide this, it would be embarrassing if people knew”

The new anime finally adapts the manga version and then lets this affect the status quo from now on, doing things like letting Ranma openly swim with the other girls at school or his boy classmates being confused not that Ranma is a girl but why he’s currently working as a waitress at a ramen shop

This is a huge change because not only did it mean the original anime couldn’t do the running gag of “everyone is weirdly nonchalant about this guy turning into a girl” but it also took agency away from Ranma and used his girl form as humiliation against him instead of him weaponizing his femininity

okay so for those who aren’t familiar, this moment in the manga is when Ranma reveals his curse to the school as part of a scheme of his, and the original anime for some reason didn’t do it and instead had Ranma have his curse revealed against his will in an embarrassing way near the end of the show
Finally sitting down to watch the newest Ranma episode before bed, excited to see Ranma’s stupid bunny suit

Yeah? Go find me a copy of London After Midnight then.

Films only endure because we make the effort to preserve them, despite changing technologies and commercial pressures. We can absolutely do this with games too, and to suggest otherwise is ridiculous.
Miyamoto explained why Nintendo has made a serious push into making movies:

“Games eventually stop running when newer versions come out, but films remain forever.”

It’s so funny that the generation of people who told me CONSTANTLY in school that Wikipedia isn’t a reliable source are now among many of the same people who believe anything they read online and share AI generated slop. I’d trust Wikipedia more than anything to come from AI any day, it has SOURCES!
wikipedia's data shows that AI is siphoning traffic away from the site, which is a danger to its sustainability. ironically Wikipedia is more important than ever to users who want reliable information instead of slop, and to AI companies that need it for training data www.404media.co/wikipedia-sa...
Wikipedia Says AI Is Causing a Dangerous Decline in Human Visitors
“With fewer visits to Wikipedia, fewer volunteers may grow and enrich the content, and fewer individual donors may support this work.”

We've finally reached a point where my express request for anyone asked about anything they do like this has me begging for them to answer "We just wanted to" because whatever fancy sounding reason you make up or come up with just comes out like this now
