I am a PhD student at Brown University. As our community is still in the middle of this crisis, there are ways to help that go beyond thoughts and prayers.

A friend who works at RIBC said there is an urgent need for blood donations. In RI? Sign up to donate blood to RIBC: www.ribc.org/donate-blood/

Another mass shooting—this time at Brown University. When Bill Clinton’s assault weapons ban was in place, mass shooting deaths dropped by 43%. After George W. Bush and Republicans let it expire, deaths skyrocketed by 239%.

It’s the guns. No more thoughts and prayers.” They don’t stop bullets.

Another horrific school shooting in America. My heart is with the students, their loved ones and the entire Brown University community.

Our kids deserve leaders who will do everything they can to keep them safe from gun violence.

Congress must do more.

How can ICE find a random, undocumented person while they're out shopping or at a restaurant, but an entire university with multiple cameras can't fully describe the Brown University shooter?

How could the shooter evade multiple cameras?
This clearly isn’t Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission Impossible.’

Almost seven hours ago, this man with a clumsy gait and a mission appeared on Hope Street, apparently leaving the Brown University shooting.

If you know this dude, you’ll know his walk. Watch. Report. Also, there MUST be more videos.

Those poor families.

We don't have to live like this.

As details continue to come in on the shooting at Brown University tonight, this much is clear: two innocent people were killed, and countless others will live with this trauma for life.

We cannot accept this as normal, doing nothing is not an option.

WOW. @haleaziz.bsky.social with a new scoop: ICE now gets a running list of every person who is going to be taking a domestic flight inside the United States from the TSA and runs it through their database looking for targets. This explains the Babson College student's arrest.

He does not appear to have ever lived in either, let alone used them as a principal residence. They were investment properties & rented out.
Yet he accuses others of fraud?

Trump on Americans' healthcare costs going up by 200-300%: "Don't make it sound so bad"

TRUMP: Don't make it sound so bad. Obviously you're a sycophant for Democrats. You're obviously a provider of bad news for Republicans.

A quick sidenote about this; one reason I stay on X is specifically because of exchanges like this, where @davidjbier.bsky.social and I got a prominent government official to make a claim so outrageous that it’s now ricocheting around the internet and actively undermining official PR campaigns.
Bovino, the man overseeing mass deportations, publicly declared that we must all have our papers on us, at all times, or we could be stopped, harassed, kidnapped, and detained, as they did with the man in this case, who is a US citizen.
