Travel with the babies… I can’t say I cherish the memories of sleep deprived nights followed by exhausting and long conference days. I could only make it work, as we could afford my mum tagging along, a huge privilege as she had to come all the way from Germany!

Aha, it IS a supermoon! 6yr spotted moon yesterday and got very excited. Seems like he is already a better observational astronomer than me, which…checks.
astroroyalscot.bsky.social
I love it that everyone loves a #supermoon. Tonight is the night so #DoLookUp!

Fine print: this astronomical event comes with a expectation-management disclaimer:
*The Supermoon is only 15% brighter than a normal full moon and I personally can not tell the difference 🤔
*Every moon is SUPER🔭🥳

If you've got clear skies, go outside and wave at our neighbour who is looking particularly stunning tonight. And if you have them, root out the binoculars to get a closer look at the grey maria: ~3.5 billion years ago these were seas of molten lava 🤓 #supermoon 🔭🧪

In my (lockdown) experience, it is all about the technique and developing a feel for consistencies of dough. I used the Sourdough School book which has lots of visuals and tables for timings. I despise video instructions 😂 And invest in a dutch oven!

Today is International Non-Binary People's Day and the first day of Non-Binary Awareness Week

The day was first celebrated in 2012, started by Katje van Loon. The date was chosen for being precisely midway between International Women's Day and International Men's Day.

Mario Santos on doing cosmology with the SKA doing HI intensity mapping. SKA doesn’t have short enough baselines, so to make it work, need to use mid as a single dish. Already getting results with MeerKLASS. #skao2025 🔭📡
Slide summarizing multi wavelength strategies for cosmology. Slide describing intensity mapping. Need low angular resolution to correlate the location of galaxies in the large scale structure with the HI signal. Summary slide of the MeerKLASS survey. Goal is 2500 hours to observe 10,000 degrees. First results: detection of the cross correlation power spectrum with the WiggleZ galaxies.
