Just going to blast this on repeat, as it becomes newly relevant every day.

How absurd are complaints against the super changes?

Consider if someone's super goes up from $3m to $3,250,000.
So they earned $250,000 in a year.

Oh no! Their balance is over $3m. They now have a tax liability.
How much? $2,884.
That is how much income tax someone pays if they earn... $36,300.
Cool and normal America.
NEW: Republican Congressman Randy Fine has told Fox News today that Gaza should be “nuked” like Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Racist. Genocidalist.

The educational wing of the CCP: Harvard ?!

Guess the only thing to do is ban any and all international students immediately…

What stage of Fascism is this?
In the DHS statement, Secretary Kristi Noem accuses Harvard of:

“fostering violence, antisemitism, and coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party”

This. Is. Insane.
Inaccurate reporting of 36.6 BILLION trades and GS cops the banking equivalent to a $1.45 parking ticket…
anyone smell global financial crisis levels of regulatory ineptitude?
BREAKING: Goldman Sachs, $GS, will pay a $1.45 million civil fine to settle a inaccurate reporting for billions of stock trades.

FINRA said that coding errors at Goldman led to inaccurate reporting of 36.6 billion trades to the CAT Central Repository, which helps the regulator monitor markets.

OK, this is wild.

In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them.

It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*.

What the HELL?

Were it not for the heroic efforts of Trump in his first 100 days, 1 in 3 Americans would be dead.

Israel has dropped more bombs in Gaza than fell on London, Dresden & Hamburg combined during WWII [𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘈𝘧𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘴].

Read that & consider that Gaza is, on average, only 5 miles wide & 25 miles in length.

Life expectancy has dropped from 75.5 years in 2023 to 40.6 years now [𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘵].

Genocide.

NEW: Erdogan has banned protests in Turkey. He has threatened to arrest anyone attending one.

This is the people’s response.

Fighting for their democracy with another vast gathering in Istanbul tonight. #Turkey 🇹🇷

In the latest update for U.S. idiocracy…

These guys had their group chat for a foreign military operation leaked directly to a journalist by ADDING HIM TO THE SAME GROUP-CHAT.

How can we trust these guys to protect our Aus military secrets…
No-one is making a more articulate case for firing Pete Hegseth than Pete Hegseth.

Here he is in 2023 talking about Biden & his handling of classified documents

House prices are rising faster than people can save.

If you earn the average male full time income (more than 80% of people) and started saving 10 years ago, you'd be no closer to buying a house today.

It's past time to fix this. @grogsgamut.bsky.social explains. #auspol
If the orange man gets desperate enough, I’ll say it now that I won’t be surprised if some kind of major domestic incident could sadly take place on U.S. soil to justify a ‘Patriot Act’ overhaul of U.S. law to slip the country into full authoritarianism.

The U.S.’s anocracy status is a knife edge.
The status quo is already worse than the aftermath of 9/11, which was an attack on US soil. Imagine how bad things will get if we see a similar attack by a foreign state. US will become completely authoritarian.

Lincoln talked about a government of the people, by the people, for the people.

Today, with Trump as our president, we have a government of the billionaires, by the billionaires, for the billionaires.

I've been working on a paper explaining how disordered discourse captures institutional power and how that inevitably results in a slide towards authoritarianism, but I didn't expect to have my conclusions constantly reinforced like this.
NEW: White House says the arrest and deportation of student activist & legal US resident, Mahmoud Khalil, is a blueprint for more.

The final line here is chilling. The White House specifically says Khalil was not breaking the law.

No evidence, no due process, no crime. He was just disappeared.
This sets an extremely dangerous precedent in the U.S.

Imprisoning people based on the fact that their opinions go against your foreign policy interests (but don’t break the law of the land) is dangerous for all people.

Reminds me of the U.S. prosecution of Assange…

A President reduced to car salesman is historically degrading.

But there’s something else very revealing in all this: amidst growing protests & collapsing sales, Musk is panicked.
holy shit -- Trump was reading from a literal Tesla sales pitch, complete with pricing, during his White House event with Elon Musk. (Andrew Harnik/Getty)
The UN could have a vote on condemning the murder of toddlers and the US would be the only nation to vote against it, justifying their vote with some culture war BS.
The US was the sole UN member state to vote NO on a resolution declaring an International Day of Hope
Okay, if this doesn’t edge the US over the fascism cliff, what does?

Strictly portraying a ‘white and male’ military and wiping all historic evidence to the contrary is very nearly equivalent to the Nazi burning of history books.

An ethnically and sexually homogenous military is not meritocracy.
The Pentagon has marked 26,000 photos for deletion to purge evidence of diversity.

The photos include the 1st black pilots in WWII, the 1st women to pass infantry training & the plane that dropped the Hiroshima bomb because it’s called the “Enola GAY”.

This is real. We’re living in a horror story.

“American control”

BlackRock is not the U.S. .
It is an economically dominant cancer on economies around the world.
Trumps favours for the U.S. billionaire class keep rolling on in the absence of actual government leadership.
A consortium led by BlackRock has inked a $23B deal to take control of key Panama Canal ports, shifting ownership to American hands from a Hong Kong firm. The move follows warnings from Trump and U.S. lawmakers about Chinese influence in the canal.
