Oh hi it's me your pal Panic. Strident literary feminist. Publishing desk job. Ran one marathon one time. "Worryingly erotic." "Disagreeable, quite shouty." "Alienating, dangerous, and perverse." #Toronto

This is a big deal! They're gonna call you a socialist anyway, like that's a bad thing, so embrace it! Say the word and tell people what it stands for! I've been yelling about this stuff forever. GO ZOHRAN
UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 5: Vito Marcantonio

There are many who dismiss our vision for New York as impossible. To them, I say we need look only to our past for proof of how we can shape the future.

Tomorrow is Election Day. And this is the final Until It's Done of our campaign.
A lot of them used to have all this stuff but now they just have a fridge of Coors and some Barefoot and yay Doug Ford, I can no longer buy 250ml of cream.
The entire country is going to have to start from scratch.
I wonder if that Bezos takeover is going through...
"There are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue." Holy shit, every single publication is folding to their whims.
thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.

I once "hacked" into the computers at the CN Tower while standing in the queue in a similar fashion.

Pickering exists you can just move there!
Related: recently enjoyed Coffee Theory
This is correct. Examples:

Good good coffee: Kicking Horse, Dirty Girl
Good bad coffee: Most diners, McDonald's
Bad good coffee: Starbucks, most hipster places that look down on drip
Bad bad coffee: Taco Bell (most non-McDs fast food really), the Hotcake House by Milwaukie and Powell in Portland.
So @caseyplett.com has this theory that there are four quadrants of coffee: "good good coffee"; "bad good coffee"; good bad coffee" and "bad bad coffee" and idk if this is true but it is def true of red Bordeaux
Grimshaw is a recent favourite of mine. He gets late autumn light just perfect.
You have snow!? I guess you are north of the city but wow.
Luv a cup of joe at the Dystopian Cafe.
Delighted and appalled is just how the weird nerds WANT you to feel! ;)
Completely ignoring the fact that if the rest of the GTA ALSO had nice little coffee shops (or whatever small nice thing) a couple blocks away people wouldn't have to travel for them!
Uh, "stores and shops" should have been something like "stores and cafΓ©s." I'm only on my second coffee here!
This city, man. All the gifts and absolutely determined to suck.
"residents' associations that warned of noise, traffic and disruption." This is so idiotic, if you have more stores and shops you can walk to, fewer people drive, so less traffic! Badiali is a total outlier and what used to be in that spot was a lovely little cafe with a gorgeous leafy patio.
"Neighbourhood interiors were never intended for commercial activity", says one letter writer. To be fair, this is true, if you toss the entirety of human history and modern day Earth outside North America in the trash, and think that urban planning less than a century old is ironclad natural law.
No corner coffee shops: Toronto committee waters down neighbourhood retail plan
It’s the second time in less than a year councillors balked at allowing certain businesses to open on some residential streets

I LOVE Halloween. I love the decorations and the whole spooky culture around it and kids in costume and handing out candy. But adult Halloween is a total no go for me. (And I'm doing it this year by request, hopefully it's okay. Stress!)
I have very similar Halloween feelings! I have always noped out on Halloween bars and parties. I don't like that feeling when I don't recognize the people I know, it feels like they're playing a cruel joke on me (it's not but I FEEL it?!). Also I suck at costumes. Making them, thinking them up. Etc.
IIRC he also put in the wfh law that if your employer has tracking software on your computer they have to tell you. Also pretty useful and good. Amazing the same person has murderous intent the rest of the time.
