I haven't touched a zine since my punk days and after visiting Middlesborough uni's art dept a few weeks ago I was inspired to get involved again and start a photozine that's centered on exploring our connection with nature 😊

A finished cyanotype from one of my very first digital photos from many years ago. Lovely way to create prints πŸ’œ

You smell books too?! I get such weird comments for smelling books (new and old for different reasons πŸ˜…)...
I hecking love these, they look amazing!
I really wanted to do some of these this year as well, and also create some cyanotypes from them but sadly won't have the time.
Some turmeric based Anthotype of ferns from my garden and one of my favourite prints of fossils by Ernst Haeckel. Have been experimenting with alternatives to fixing without Borax.

Have been making cyanotypes and anthotypes as part of a print share project with Reddit, I thought it might be cool to include a couple of arty style photos along with normal prints.

This article manages to name her husband before it names… her.
Ohh no, just call it char grilled then it looks great πŸ™ˆπŸ˜…
Snap! I just used 2kgs of green tomatoes along with chilli, mango, and lime to make an amazing chutney.
Still have 5 kilos of unripe tomatoes to go through πŸ˜…

No matter how dark things get, I will never stop being enchanted by the world. Every day I walk by a river on the way to school and I see a heron hunting for fish, I see the trees turning colour, the sun behind morning fog... We live on a planet full of life and it will never not be amazing to me.

imagine if a family of beavers randomly showed up right now and finished whatever thing you've been putting off
Remember when George W Bush held a book upside down, Regan went to Bitburg, Clinton did not have sexual relations? How we laughed at their lack of judgement.

Trump is immeasurably more stupid yet I can't see anyone laughing. We all understand the danger of letting an inmate run the asylum.
Trump: "I think it has -- I think it's very bad. They're pumping, it looks like they're pumping into a horse. You have a little child, a little fragile child, and you get a vat of 80 different vaccines, I guess. 80 different blends. And they pump it in. So ideally, a woman won't take Tylenol."
Looks like what they call a "Well Fired Loaf" around these parts. How did it taste?
I miss my old window pigeon friends, now I live vicariously through your stories!

"As our language around forests became less reverent, Poole noted that people began using more scientific and economic terms to describe trees. In other words, people began viewing forests as something from which to extract value, not inspiration."

The words we use to talk about nature are disappearing. Here’s why that matters.
We’ll need to do more than β€˜touch grass’ to revive them.

Yeah that's a Leopard slug, I did a course on slug ID last year and realised that what I thought were Leopard slugs that hang around in my garden were actually Green Cellar slugs. There were other tells such as the colour of the slime but I can't recall that off the top of my head πŸ™‚
Also Leopard slugs are very territorial and have complex little lives! Absolutely amazing things! πŸ’œ
