Like, if you wanted to drop a 13 team parlay, you had to REALLY want to do it - you’ve been gambling for years, you know your shit, how the line moves at your book, all the inside info, and so on. Now you can drop a 13 team parlay in a minute based on a hunch and the fact that you have $20

This is the thing. Gambling used to be a *chore* - you had to know a guy, or be in Vegas or Reno, or wade through a cloud of cigarette smoke in whatever sports book existed in your area. Now you can place a bet faster than you can order something on Amazon bsky.app/profile/seid...
It’s not just the internet, it’s the apps in specific. We’ve removed all friction. You can hit five buttons from your couch and bet a huge sum, you don’t have to call a guy, you don’t even have to go to a physical computer.

The Madden stuff is one of the biggest stretches I’ve seen on this topic.
The Madden link is tenuous at best, but this essay misses the mark a bit. The primary culprit is the internet.

Pre-internet fantasy was a chore - a hobby for the most obsessed nerds. The internet made it easier, and that’s been turbocharged with betting apps and phones.
And the girl got to see to an epic game with a great excuse to dip right after

Technically they had the first one, since the Gibson home run is what coined the term. 🤓
Dodgers have 6 postseason walk-off home runs all-time. Freddie Freeman has the last 2 of them

Kirk Gibson 1988 WS G1
Justin Turner 2017 NLCS G2
Max Muncy 2018 WS G3
Chris Taylor 2021 WCG
Freeman 2024 WS G1

The government shutdown has put SNAP benefits at risk for millions of Americans. Travis Peters, an urban farmer in Detroit, is giving out free produce tomorrow

'If it's getting tight, my food is free. Don’t even sweat that'
As SNAP benefits come under threat, a Detroit farmer is stepping up to help fill the void

If Chotiner attempted to interviewed me I’d ply him with tacos and never talk
If Chotiner interviewed me I’d make him laugh so much he wouldn’t get to any of his questions

If you're struggling to remember when and where NBA games are airing, it's easy, imo:

On weekdays, viewers can use multiple slurp juices on a single ape, so if a viewer has 1 astro ape and 3 slurp juices they can create 3 new apes. It's essentially a minting event for Lab Monkes and Special Forces.

Posting again as a public service (and because I can't freakin' remember either):
