in SATX, the district's rule was any residents within two miles of the attending campus had to walk. i had to walk FM78 EVERY MORNING for over a mile in texas heat, and show up to school covered in sweat.
in AL, the bus came at 5:30am and i was on the bus for two hours every morning before school.
