JUST AS A FOR INSTANCE: dogs know when you're likely to come home because they can smell the change in the day. If you go to work and arrive back home at the same time, they get the pattern and sense--as the day and the scents fade--what time it is. They tell time by scent, not by sunlight.

I just got back from a walk. While I was walking through the park, a little white boy and his father flagged me down from the very other end of the park. Now to be fair, I have on my hat on, so I’m easy to spot lol. The little boy drew me this. A month ago. He has been waiting to see me again.

Cannot agree with this more. If you can understand that "My jacket is red" and "I have a crimson windbreaker" are essentially the same sentence, then you can learn another language. Even developing reasonable proficiency opens up new worlds. Go and do it

I let someone borrow this book years ago, and they never gave it back. Today, it was on the sidewalk. If you've never read this--even if you don't have a dog--DO SO. It helped explain Waf to me, and it's also a very good book.
