the checker box boys' version (pseudonym for lou gold orchestra) on broadway label being my favorite take of it

Tech guy at the start: Star Trek is actually a poor reference point for our product because although it will end scarcity we also predict an end to any form of military organization

I'm here again pleading with people to please consider the polish/balkan version of hellmann's for all of your mayonnaise needs. Not even close.

Dan Belloc and Orchestra - Harlem Nocturne
1956, 78rpm

Belloc, tenor sax, was a vital Chicago music legend that many people do not know about. Worth looking up.
Seemingly a rare 78 on the Oriole label, a smoky, gorgeous recording of Earl Hagen's "Harlem Nocturne"

I make the same salad constantly, and I love it every time, not bored of it ever:

leafy green, tomato, cucumber, red onion, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper

That's the basic. Add whatever veggies you like, like yellow pepper etc, and if possible good Greek feta like Kalataki, and voila

Recorded at Marsh Studios in 1924 in Chicago, at the corner of Wabash and Jackson in the Loop. Quite an exuberant take of the Handy classic by the obscure Chicago De Lux Orchestra. I can't find anything about the players in this band except for that Boyd Senter is on clarinet

Recorded in Chicago in 1955, featuring Willie Dixon (who wrote the tune) on bass and Robert Lockwood,Jr on guitar, Little Walter's "My Babe" became a standard and a classic almost instantly. And of course the harmonica straight rips
