Something cool happened over the weekend that I didn't post about much: a few friends and I won first place in the Stonecutters LA Treehouse of Horror trivia at @vidiots.bsky.social. Our team name was THE APE ISLAND JAYCEES and we won some really great stuff.

Well they should change those things, I dunno what to tell

Without giving too much away I essentially need to look like I've been shooting heroin for the last two years (I can make light of this because I used to actually do that) but I don't want to look like the corpse bride

Ok before I head out I need to make myself a little paler/wan for my costume tomorrow, should I just get a foundation that is a little lighter and cooler than my usual or is there a trick that doesn't involve using some sort of corpse paint

If I personally cannot do what you are doing it is offensive to me and therefore you must know about it!!!

I’ll be working the table while Larry signs the Goods. Come on out, it’ll be fun

Well no but it is still the only site that allows private accounts, group DMs, images in DMs, drafts.... like these seem like day one implementations

There's entire gigantic groups in Los Angeles who get together and play! There's a Burbank group. I play it every day almost. Recently I ran into a huge group in Pomona doing a community day and that was fun.

Oops I did the same pic twice I meant to post this one

There was a costume contest. My friend Amy went as this deep cut reference of a shark eating an ape... do you know what episode that's from?

I took home the Krusty doll for my daughter. Daniel took home some schematics of the Simpsons house, and Brian took home the production boards for the Mr. Plow episode! Love the sketches of Marge and Homer snuggling.

It's always telling when you find the author of a piece like this and they haven't posted the article at all. It's almost as if they don't want people to know that they used ChatGPT (or just made it up I guess?)

I cannot stress enough that Wes Craven did not have a single goddamned thing to do with Freddy's Nightmares, and I have no fucking clue what Polygon is smoking with this article

"This is precisely the sublime unity of composition & content that most recommends Demme’s film, and—for this unrepentant repeat offender—insures its viewing against diminishing returns: SILENCE is a movie about forensic psychology that demands and rewards forensic (as in precise) observation."
Where to Look: The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Consider how The Silence of the Lambs revolves around vision. Not only perception, but empathy and hindsight, and the non-empirical prick of intuition.

Simpsons accounts are often the only thing keeping me going. That 22 songs account on IG has kept me afloat for a year now

Ok here's the thing: we shouldn't have to give up anything that brings us joy just because we live in a fucking nightmare country

Tariffs have rapidly increased the price of coffee—a drink with almost no nutritional value and lots of functional substitutes. Yet coffee may also be the one thing Americans can’t live without, @elcush.bsky.social writes:
The Drink That Americans Won’t Give Up Without a Fight
Coffee has almost no nutritional value and lots of substitutes. It’s also, apparently, too important to lose.
