it is impossible for a book to be cosy if the prose isn't good. sturdy, well-set prose is like 60% of any cosy read and this is the actual true reason why the cosy fantasy boom is wretched even before you get to the therapy speak and uninquisitive worldbuilding etc

it absolutely rules when a book is inconsistently and incoherently paced if the sentences in it are good. you should get to hang out in a book sometimes. wander off sideways. it owns.
