NYC, I don't want to make you collectively responsible for my mental health or anything, but it will give me such a big boost of hope if you elect Mamdani as your mayor.
Bonus: Could not get any proper sleep last night, could not stay asleep, struggled to get comfortable every time I had to go back to sleep

I've been up for maybe an hour and I already feel like it needs to be nap time
No rest day for the weary traveller

Driving around for appointments, appointments, appointments, with no good chance to nap until way too far into the day (nor time to write when my ADHD med's active)

I'd hoped to make it to next week before flirting with an energy crash, but here we are
Hugs appreciated

It's just a lot, and she tends to push back against boundaries etc., so it's emotionally complicated even outside of Medical Fuckery adventures

Plus, nothing good comes of brain function going abruptly awry (timescale ~3wks)

*sigh*
Anywho, this is likely gonna derail things for a hot sec
Aaaaaaand life said lul

Mom's experiencing acute Medical Fuckery, meaning I'm dropping everything to travel ~6hrs tomorrow to be the sole driver serving her and my paternal grandparents for ~8-9 days

(This would less stressful if we had a less complicated history and if I were less disabled)
Been a sec since I've given a numeric WIP update

'Chunk 1' and 'Chunk 2' of Part 1 are drafted, and I'm sitting at ~70k words

I'm hoping to finish drafting my first pass of 'Chunk 3' before the end of the month (mildly ambitious, but not impossible, and it's mostly running downhill)

In my experience, "writer's block" means your subconscious has identified a massive problem in the bits you've written so far and isn't letting you waste any more time charging forward until you figure out how to fix it, which is also not a thing the stochastic parrot can fix for you!
My most recent bout was caused because part of me had realized I needed to switch from third to first person ~54k words in to my WIP

Guess what fixed it?

Doing the damn rewrite and gaining momentum from it

Now writing is progressing smoothly again

Monday morning starting off with purrs from baby Eggnog (sound on)
I'd hope no one *wants* their kid to have to face a situation like that

But having (your-specific-kid-appropriate) discussions about sex helps protect both them *and* the people around them
(CW: CSA)

After ruminating for a day or so, I told mom, and she called the hotline

We later learned I was the second person who'd been told, actually several years after the first

Mom having talked with me about certain types of acts meant I was better-prepared when that info became relevant
(CW: CSA)

My mom answered questions as they arose

(Which resulted in great moments like 2nd grader me asking 'What's a tampon?' in a Disneyworld bathroom)

This approach proved important; about a week after I'd asked what oral sex was, a friend disclosed they were being routinely sexually abused

Also, sounds like a great setup for a citrus theme for names, or maybe a pasta shapes set

(I think Noodle is an amazing orange cat name, but if you have a bunch then pasta names are a good way to make it a group theme)
They will be permitted no more than two collective braincells at a time, which will mostly be in the torties' possessions

May they thrive and grow strong under your care! <3
Groggy + sluggish following a wild-ass night of dreams

Three different time loop dreams, each a unique flavor of wtf

Shared with my dingus over breakfast, he says my mind is fucking terrifying :P

One was also a multilingual dream (english + mandarin chinese, which I notably don't speak)
WIP typo of the day:
Amentitties

Shout out to this one intense serious guy that came up to me at my artist alley table to buy all my dvattra stuff and then looked me in the eye and said “I hope that whatever is wrong with you never gets fixed”
That doggo is in wingless-bat territory! <3
I adore my cattos

However

I do not adore having bruises all over my ribcage from Pharoah deciding I needed deep tissue massage there this morning
Very sluggish kinda day

Opened the tablet to write, promptly dozed off

Body is reminding me that rest and pacing myself is important
2nd top-tier writing day in a row

Of course, the evening went a bit tits-up (embodiment was a mistake)

But hey, beta round 1 edits have been made, now I need to carry a few points forward into the rest of the draft

Current goal is part 1 fully compiled by end of the month, then it's part 2 ahoy
I'm just verifying they received the rx from my doc, and what the first day I can pick up my ADHD med is (and can they just hold all my other meds until then?)

(Supply fuckeries caused an offset in when doc can write rx vs. when I can pick it up, but I never changed my reminder interval)
Even just being consistently friendly will go a long way

Some days I call my pharmacy to check on rx status (no hold vs. 20-30+ min hold for my doc, doc occasionally goofs sending scripts, plus the ADHD med supply fuckeries), and on busy days the harried techs seem to relax when they hear it's me
