We all desperately want to clear the courts backlog seeing victims withdraw from the criminal justice process.
But the backlog was caused by chronic underfunding, not juries.
Restricting jury trials would undermine our democracy and right to a fair trial, and may even be a false economy.

Four Labour MPs who lost the party whip in July for being “persistent rebels” have had the sanction removed, the last of a series of penalised backbenchers to be allowed back into the fold.

But MPs backed by the right-leaning Labour to Win faction are *hugely* represented
This is IMO a big part of the issue with PM Starmer's Government. It has a v narrow ideological range. No 10's tent is very small
