Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

I’m on chapter 3. I’ve laughed out loud more than once (which maybe is weird for a murder mystery, but 🤷🏻‍♀️). Academic friends, a funny book written by one of our own - and a pretty awesome, smart person. 🗃️ #AcademicSky libro.fm/audiobooks/9...

Since it's Tenure-And-Promotion-To-Associate letter writing season, a few years ago I compiled a set of materials that I found useful in crafting my letters. They might be useful to you too, perhaps.

A colleague and I realized we both color code the work we do for the university (responding to email, committee work, etc.) using the school's colors.

I use Green for scholarship because promotion is the main way to get a raise in academia.

What's your color coding system?

I hear that.

I teach interpreting and when they say they are creating the interpretation for anyone that means it’s not going to hit the mark for lots of audiences.
Oh yeah. I’ve had that problem. Some of our conferences cross fiscal years. So we can’t get reimbursed for June because it’s past deadlines. And we sometimes can’t get reimbursed for July expenses because they were pre approved because they can’t approve until the fiscal year.
