I like how, in PSIII, you can sell your starting equipment and buy an escapipe. Then, when you get put in prison as part of the opening story, you can use the escapipe instead of having the story progress.
It breaks the game, and a character even says something like, "yeah, you need to restart now"

Is social media dying? How much has Twitter changed as it became X? Which party now dominates the conversation?

Using nationally representative ANES data from 2020 & 2024, I map how the U.S. social media landscape has transformed.

Here are the key take-aways 🧵

We should never forget that this synagogue was targeted specifically because of their work with HIAS on refugee rights. Seven years later, we should honor their legacy by fighting antisemitism, but also by continuing to do the work of supporting refugee resettlement and migrant rights.
Seven years ago today, 11 Jewish people were murdered at the Tree of Life Congregation, a synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In their names, we will continue to stand up against hate, bigotry and the rise in antisemitism taking place around the country. May their memories be for a blessing.
Bob Odenkirk wasn't hired for BB because he's a great actor, though I think everyone realized at some point that he is. He was hired because he does a funny scammy guy TO THE POINT OF PERFECTION.

If you watch Mr. Show, you realize that just about every Bob Odenkirk character is naturally hilarious.
Masters can find the funny, often even in contexts and with material that isn't strictly humorous. Think of Norm MacDonald's roast of Bob Saget, for example, or Tim Heidecker's stand up act.

Embody-types, however, just ARE funny. Eric Wareheim can fake laugh for a few beats, and I'm in stitches.
David Cross SEEMS like a Master, but he's actually an Embody-type.
(below is NOT exhaustive)
Masters:
Tim Heidecker, Phil Hartman, George Carlin, Norm MacDonald

Embody:
Eric Wareheim, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Chris Farley

Tim Robinson is a natural embody comedian, but he's learned to master. Bob Odenkirk is a true hybrid.
I'm developing a way of categorizing top tier comedians based on whether they have mastered comedy or have embodied it
I bet Chicago can land at least one more world religion, if it plays its cards right
Mar Awa III, patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East, also born in Chicago, gave Pope Leo a Cubs jersey.
RIP to everyone killed by Isaac Chotiner for their hubris but im different. and better. maybe even better than Isaac Chotiner
Lol, I would call this shameful and be-clowning, but, of course, it's enough just to mention that it's Jacobin.
Establishment Democrats spent a full year complaining the Left forced them to be “woke.”

But then a left populist, Graham Platner, threatened to win in Maine, so they went right back to trying to cancel someone over old internet posts.

boy is that true. in 2022-3, burrito taxis going up got about ten thousand times more attention online than the fact that it was the best labor market for low income workers in like 60 years
i will note again that there is a really unhealthy, unpleasant and strong current of consumerism that runs through the left in a way that genuinely didn’t used to be true
The responses this post is getting, combined with the animating grievances of large swathes of politics, has convinced me we need a kind of society wide PSA about how Buying Things Is Optional.

You don’t think video games should cost $100? Don’t buy the videogame. Buying Things Is Optional.

Hey, friends. This has popped up here. You may want to block them, as they are not actual Canadian news. In fact, the government here does not recognize their “reporters.” They are funded by dark money to spread disinformation and outright lies.

You’re further ahead watching SNL update.

The president of the United States posted a video of him defecating on the American people. Many in my profession normalized it. This is a big reason why we are where we are.

Nothing that any elected Democrat has ever said about Republican voters is ever as crass or as cruel as what Trump says about Democratic constituencies every single day, and the media just treats it as background noise.
