Just to be clear, this is a violation of the fundamental ethical principle in clinical trial design called "equipoise."
Equipoise means that no-one is exposed to excess risk just to test the therapy. That's specifically *why* vaccine trials don't use placebo arms.

The WH being so incompetent that they can’t even do malevolent group texts right, on the backdrop of all of this Aggressive Meritocracy reminds me that this country’s ethos was formed by people so incompetent they couldn’t even grow rice & whose only exceptional quality was propensity for brutality.
The idea that enslaved people were ‘developing skills’ is totally insane. Their skills were being violently exploited. White people couldn’t even grow rice on American soil. Africans had those techniques.
