Wonder Man is very charming and fun. It's a lovely double-act going on with Sir Ben Kingsley and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Six episodes in, it's not really a superhero show at all. It's just a story of two desperate actors.

I was kidding here. AI is not replacing art. It can’t. It’s like thinking a hairdryer can replace a hairdresser, and it’s actually a handgun.

I think I’ve figured out how to get people to read something you’ve written. Preface it with, “I wrote this about us/you,” and then follow it up with, “Are you OK with me putting this out there?”

Burgum: "CO2 was never a pollutant. When we breathe, we emit CO2. Plants need CO2 to survive and grow. They thrive with more CO2. So the whole endangerment thing opens up an opportunity for the revival of clean, beautiful, American coal."

They should've given Martin Short some sort of special Oscar for just the facial expressions he makes in this scene. bsky.app/profile/benc...
That's why we have to talk to them like this.

Once the corps and oligarchs 100% took the news mass media it was really game over wasn’t it?

Reagan killed the fairness doctrine. Clinton & Repubs then scrapped rules prohibiting media consolidation. Followed by 25 yrs of mergers, hiring careerists & firing real journalists and here we are.

I’ll be honest with you, I just had to look up what decidedly meant as I’ve always just assumed its meaning until just now. But as I only ever see it paired with mixed I let doubt creep in. Turns out I was right. Anyway…

The USA have kept an Irish guy who has every legal right to be there in a concentration camp for months.

Imagine someone telling you this in like 2015.
This is what we’re doing to people. We are the bad guys.

I like the look of that Cliff Booth sequel, but I worry it's going to be so muddy to watch with all the compression these platforms like Netflix impose.

Bezos is worth 250 billion and he fires people from the newspaper he owns. His hourly interest alone could fund that paper forever, and his daily interest could fund ten more as vital and he’d continue to make ungodly profit. These people are psychopaths.

The most farfetched aspect of Wonder Man is that his agent texts him back as soon as he sends a message.

Scream has gone the opposite direction of most horror franchises and become less comic the further it's gone on. Usually sequels this deep in start poking fun at themselves, and their legacy, but Scream has abandoned the sly wit of the Wes Craven era. A shame, really. That was what set them apart.

The reliance on shows these days to do flashback eps that build out the backstory of the protagonist, pausing the forward momentum of the main narrative to do so, is frustrating. I know with opinions like this there are examples of when it's worthwhile, but I'm still bored of the trope all the same.

It never feels fair when someone so vibrant and full of the spark that makes life fun passes away. Catherine O’Hara was always a delight. Doesn’t seem right she’s gone. Gutted.
