Interested in politics, football and reading books. Boring centrist (left) dad. Professionally work in skills in an industry nobody has heard of.
Just unbelievable. I remember thinking after France 98 - it'll be fine, I'll have loads of World Cups to go to when I'm an adult with my pals.

I'm nearly 42 with two kids. Just unbelievable.

Great thread thanks. Am I being too simplistic at saying we sometimes confuse what voters find most noticeable versus what they care about?

Surely it can't stay this way in Scottish Rugby?

My new prescription is for varifocals. A grim reminder of the passage of time and a stint on the old pocketbook.

The new Lily Allen album is very good. Something to listen to properly, in one go, from start to finish, in the correct order.

Can see how it could help for character guides, continuity and plot points etc. But getting AI to draft text is crossing a Rubicon.

'Try our new AI features' increasing feels like the annoying little paper clip of today.

Vg as ever. I think the mistake a lot of us had was believing that because he was a serious person with a serious manner, he'd necessarily have a seriousness of purpose. But to do that you need a purpose and a vision, and well as you said...

Yeah. That's very insightful. But very depressing.

Interesting. I know very little about Welsh politics, but based on Scotland I'd beware the tale of two nationalisms analysis.
Who in my bloc can beat the threat on the other side?

Caerphilly election helps us understand bloc voting and viability.

Voters asking which party in their bloc is best placed to defeat a more disliked party. Viability absolutely critical, given polarisation and fragmentation.

A senior civil servant goes to the doctor.

"Doctor I'm depressed I work in the centre of the British Government and can't get anything done."

"Don't worry" the doctor says "The Great Baroness Casey is now running the civil service."

"But doctor, don't you see? I am the Great Baroness Casey."

A very British absurdity, that you can apparently release a press statement saying you are "no longer using your titles", and simultanously sign it "Prince Andrew." Mr Mountbatten-Windsor would surely do.
