Young Barkley was TERRIFYING.

Like a freight train that could jump the tracks right into your house.
December 12, 1986: Philadelphia’s Charles Barkley with a double-clutch breakaway slam.

Barkley finished with 15 PTS/10 REB, but the 76ers were blown out at New Jersey, 123-90. Tony Brown had 22 PTS (10-14 FG) and 7 AST for the Nets, who improved to 4-17.

The Matrix, The Truman Show, and The Sixth Sense
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

Not sure there’s anything I’d like to watch LESS than the two Jons from Pod Save America review a South Park episode.

Maybe the snuff film from 8mm, but it’s a short list.

Need you to please find this 50+ pt blowout that Jim Jackson remembers he was involved in lol

I’m just going to assume it was in his Mavs years (they were “the bad team” when I first started watching ball)….
Harlan: "53 point lead, I don't know that I've ever done a game with a 53 point difference in a game"
Jim Jackson: "I've been in one where I got beat by 53... it ain't fun I can tell you that."

OKC did get to a 50+ point lead at times but ONLY won by 49.

Welp, better luck next time.

OKC bench really wants this 50 point leads….

I’d say this was pretty well on point.

Phoenix doesn’t have Jalen Green either?

Grayson Allen is STARTING?

Against OKC?

Might be short work for the home team…

Showing my age but he was fun to watch briefly in college at Cal.

Also fun fact: he won a basketball gold medal in 2000 with the Olympic Team in Sydney.
December 9, 2004: Shareef Abdur-Rahim’s 3-pointer at the buzzer gives Portland the win over the Celtics.

Abdur-Rahim finished with 15 PTS/14 REB and Zach Randolph had 22 PTS/17 REB in the Trail Blazers’ 89-87 victory. Gary Payton and Mark Blount led Boston with 14 PTS apiece.

Watching There Will Be Blood on Paramount+ and really enjoying my pauses as Plainview is struggling to find oil in the first 5 minutes.

I remember being stoned as shit watching Stranger Things Season 1, 2016 or whatever…

& when 11 showed up I thought that was Will Byers returning from the UPSIDE DOWN as a…

GIRL

Boy? Now girl.

I think I spent like 2 episodes thinking “well this is brave.”

& I still wonder about that narrative…

Not a huge fan of these funky #NBA courts they made for the #NBACup, but this OKC court is so clean that I think they should keep it like that always!

Minus the weird looking gold paint in the lanes and at center court, of course.

But that dark blue with orange around the court is cold.

We’ve learned a lot about our institutions in this Trump term.

Very little of it is good.

But that’s not what I heard from some people after the election. It was that even if Trump did go if the rails with Project 2025 that the tunnel would contain him.

He broke right through those paper walls.
