Now that I’ve worked out how to pin a post… No DMs unless I know you well/frequently interact with you, or it’s a genuine writing/editing opportunity. I’m autistic and find small talk scary IRL so won’t do it here. Thank you for respecting my wishes.

Mine was at least one film featuring quicksand that I watched with my mum. Before I started school we watched a film every afternoon. All I remember about this one is a lady who had been murdering people (possibly involving quicksand) running off from the police into the quicksand and sinking.
This early 70s Sesame Street animation is my very first childhood scar! Aged 3 (I think - it's also one of my earliest memories), I *really* didn't like the numbers rushing towards me, or the sounds they made. I think I thought they'd smash through the TV screen! What was your earliest telly scar?

There is either a fox or a piglet running round the garden. From the high-pitched squealing I cannot tell which.

It’s the boy’s birthday today, so hopefully this will go down well.
Baked the boy a chocolate Guinness cake for his birthday. It says "47" in the middle, though I messed it up a bit and momentarily forgot what a 4 looked like, even though there was one on the scale directly in front of me.

My mum was obsessed with this, and named one of our cat’s kittens “Flash” after it, due to her being born whilst the show was on.
The Flashing Blade - swashbuckling redubbed French costume drama charting the sword-swingjng escapades of Francois, Chevalier de Recci, with an added galloping UK Psych theme song. Later given an extremely silly makeover by Russell T. Davies.

Toad news 🧙
Live birth in toads! Is a thing! Three newly described species of tree toads give birth to toadlets, ~40 or more at a pop and each just a few millimeters long. They were previously all lumped together as Nectophrynoides viviparus, until new analysis identified them as three different species 🐸🧪

Researchers have newly described three extremely rare species of toad that leapfrog over the egg-to-tadpole stage and give birth to toadlets.

Hoping it’s not too wet/muddy tomorrow and I can walk up over our hill to see the crows, who often bathe in the puddles. They fascinate me, but having errands most days this week means I haven’t seen them since Sunday.
A crow waddles through a large puddle in Hollow Ponds, its legs only halfway under the water. Fooled, I walk across the puddle, but at a deep part and my boots sink in up to my ankles. The crow tilts its head. You silly creature, it thinks, know you not, how puddles are?
