And the fun part about that is that these people tend to actively (if unconsciously) be part of the problem, and don't care enough to reflect on the possibility that this could indeed be the case
I think a massive, massive sticking point in the state of the world is that even people who think they are good, feminist and well informed do not actually understand how bad things are. And it's impossible to tell people convinced they do know that they are off by magnitudes.

My hot take: People focus too much on the idea that people are easily "canceled" when they should focus on the idea that people are often too easily forgiven. That allows people to do/say bad things, apologize without repair/reconciliation, and then be accepted again without reckoning with the harm.
