One thing that's irritating about the whole "Bright deadbeat dad" thing is that it obfuscates the far more interesting discussion of one of the themes of UC gundam, that is being a "important" and "great man" requires you to give up your human relationships

I'm quite familiar with this feeling as a 0083 fan. If I can't avoid bullshit takes on my favorite characters, I make fun of their absurdity. Like, yes, Nina is the worst person, worse than wannabe gihrens. It's easier when I don't take idiots seriously.

I think Gato may have BPD. Suicidal tendencies and self-destructive behavior? Check. Issues with interpersonal relationships? Poor Nina and Kelley. Idealization and devaluation of others? Check. Poor emotional regulation? It's noticeable even in-universe (mainly by Karius and Delaz).
