As the Bluesky continues to grow, I feel like I need to re-establish my disclaimers from the Old Place: I primarily use social media to learn more about my faith. Lots of people who haven't met me IRL know me from my public sector job, which has a social media policy against putting my work #onhere.
We upgraded our kitchen in 2019 and looked into making it a commercial kitchen to open it to the community. The increase in our water bill to the regional wastewater agency alone was going to be $20k (bc it represented us changing use from private to basically a restaurant).
The priest that baptized me was celebrating his 50 years of ordained ministry and his sermon was 45 minutes long. I left after 10 minutes and do not have regrets.

Picture it: you live in Minneapolis and are enjoying a postcard-perfect fall day riding on our network of over 100 miles of trails and curb-protected bikeways.
Animales, in the Harrison neighborhood, has a separate pay lot for $3. Harrison is the new NE, just wait for SWLRT to open and it'll really kick into high gear.

Here is the info on removing Bishop Whipple's name from the Federal Building episcopalnewsservice.org/2019/09/13/m...
That's my bishop! I'm so glad he was there.
The Rt Rev’d Craig Loya, 10th Bishop of Minnesota, speaking outside the federal building—named for his first predecessor—where the Secretary for Homeland Security was making an announcement about increased immigration enforcement in Minnesota. This is what moral clarity looks like!
Memo to MSP that the Episcopal church of Minnesota has formally requested that DHS remove the name of Bishop Whipple from the building where the press conference is happening right now.
My 1st grader was asked to create a map of important places. In addition to the library and Cedar Lake beach she drew her interpretation of the improved intersection at Lyndale/Hennepin in front of the Basilica. (the triangles are the medians/corners and the rectangles are the crosswalk hashing)
It's 28 degrees, the sun is barely peeking up, and I just saw a guy in flip flops heading to Brownie Lake with a paddle board. I love this city.
We're saying 15 hr/wk. Thank you!
Hey #narthex crowd: Our parish in St. Paul, MN is looking for a 6-12 month interim music director for 2026. Thank you for sharing! 🕯️📕⚓https://stmatthewsmn.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Interim-Director-of-Music-Job-Spec.pdf

MPRB customer service reps have always been 100% kind, patient, and have always resolved my question or problem immediately. I really appreciate it! (if, like me, you have a kid "aging out" of their grade level for rec sports, customer service can override)
If you're cold, they're cold. Bring them inside!

Edward Toohey, 41-year-old gas heating engineer, is a candidate for Mayor of Minneapolis.
We spent $21 on gas in September. We're coming up on the third anniversary of our Tern and it gets more mileage every year (about 1,500 in 2025).

Many parents are now are forgoing minivans for greener alternatives: cargo bikes. They have been around for decades, but the advent of the electric bike motor has made them much more popular. n.pr/3WJyZn9
