I send mine to my spiritual director and, when I was living on campus, would send it to the prioress for her approval. She told me she didn’t need to approve it and I responded “Even so, Sister, would you please?” God bless these poor people who have to deal with me!

The Oratory of the Good Shepherd has three novices in our North American Province and is helping to incubate a companion community of professed women. Our European province has a postulant and our Australian province has a novice. Hope abounds! (And may the Good Shepherd lead more to us!)

After spending a weekend chaperoning teenagers on an out of state youth group trip, I feel adequately prepared to deal with him and at least a dozen of his goonies.

The teens just shoved a bottle of water at me and asked me to bless it, which I obviously did. They then took turns taking swigs and started talking about how drinking holy water will obviously settle their stomach and keep the demons away. The kids are medieval peasants but they’re alright. 🕯️

Love the cellarer! I wrote a paper in grad school comparing the cellarer to the deacon (the language Benedict uses mirrors Paul’s language for deacons.)

Where did your priest get a copy, do you know? It sounds like a wonderful book, but I can’t find a copy online or in the US via WorldCat.

I think post Covid almost every mainline. Church would not find it weird if somebody waved instead of shaking hands at the passing of the peace! I hope next Sunday goes well and if you’re ever in/up for the drive to Northfield, do stop in at All Saints!
