Primaries. Primaries. Primaries. Primaries. Primaries. Primaries. Every American deserves to be represented by someone at every level of government who will STAND UP FOR THEM. That is not happening in NH right now. Who will stand up for human rights and dignity? Who is running to represent US????? 🗳️
Wanna talk 2028 potential presidential candidates? There are oodles of elections before that. Who’s your favorite local candidate? Who’s running in the primary against your milquetoast or fascist reps? How can you support them? Are you signed up to work the polls? Poll watch? Canvass? Run???… 🗳️🇺🇸💃🏻🕺🏻

Throughout the first year of Donald Trump’s second administration, Vanity Fair writer Chris Whipple has interviewed Susie Wiles, White House chief of staff, amid each moment of crisis. His insider’s account of Trump 2.0 joins the photography of Christopher Anderson for a portrait of power—and peril.

I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along
There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

He'll start a war to:

1. Distract from the Epstein Files
2. Steal oil
3. Justify emergency powers
4. Justify use of the AEA for deportation/internment
5. Help the drug lord he just pardoned

Exactly. If people can’t see the familiar choreography by now…..
Worried that the escalation this week is designed to coincide with Friday's deadline for the DOJ to release the Epstein files
Gallego: "This is the Iraq War 2.0 with a South American flavor. I'm hoping this doesn't happen, but I'm telling you - if you look at what they have down there, all the assets they have down there, all the actions they're taking, this is absolutely an effort to get us involved in a war in Venezuela"

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

If you're not for "both sides do it" journalism and you're weary of "symmetrical treatment of asymmetrical facts," what's the alternative?

One answer is point-of-view journalism plus a very high standard of verification, as @gregsargent.bsky.social demonstrates here.
